Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Probe ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
License
Probe is provided as free software. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software for personal and commercial purposes, subject to these terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Probe only for lawful purposes. You may use Probe to:
- Debug and inspect HTTP/HTTPS traffic on networks and devices you own or are authorized to test
- Develop and test software applications
- Perform authorized security testing and research
- Inspect traffic from your own mobile devices and applications
Prohibited Use
You must not use Probe to:
- Intercept traffic on networks you do not own or have authorization to monitor
- Capture credentials, personal data, or sensitive information from other people without their consent
- Conduct unauthorized surveillance or eavesdropping
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
- Distribute malware, engage in phishing, or perform any malicious activity
HTTPS Interception
Probe performs HTTPS interception (man-in-the-middle) as its core functionality. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:
- You are responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization to intercept HTTPS traffic
- Installing the Probe CA certificate on a device grants Probe the ability to decrypt HTTPS traffic from that device
- You should remove the Probe CA certificate from devices when you no longer need to debug traffic
- Intercepting HTTPS traffic may be subject to legal restrictions in your jurisdiction
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the authors, contributors, or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the Software. This includes:
- Data loss or corruption
- Security breaches resulting from use of the Software
- Any consequences of intercepting network traffic
- Damages arising from reliance on the Software
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the authors and contributors from any claims, losses, or damages, including legal fees, arising from your use of the Software or violation of these terms.
Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Termination
Your right to use the Software terminates automatically if you violate any of these terms. Upon termination, you must uninstall the Software and remove any installed CA certificates.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
